Custom reports are a cinch with TimeForge!

The possibilities with a custom report builder are exciting, but at the same time intimidating. There’s typically a lot of options to choose from, and that can make things seem overwhelming at first. Not so with TimeForge! We keep things simple with our new build your own report tool.

There are exactly TWO steps for building any report: first, choose the type of report, and second, choose the data you care about. That’s it!

Step 1 is to choose your report type, step 2 is to choose your filters.

TimeForge hosts a lot of data, such as employee information, payroll, scheduling, attendance, sales, and more! We understand that different types of data require periodic review, whether it be daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. For this reason, the build your own report tool allows specific date ranges to be selected, and there are several ways to export your report.

To help get you started, here are 6 easy ways to use the TimeForge custom report builder (also called ad-hoc reporting):

1. Easily configure your report type

As mentioned above, it only takes two steps to build a great custom report. TimeForge makes it extremely easy to select a report type on the fly. One day you may only need to look at Attendance, but on a different day, you may want to review Employees & Attendance or Schedules & Attendance. With so much data at the user’s fingertips, information retrieval and review is limitless.

2. Filter the data down to what you care about

Once a report type is selected, TimeForge automatically includes all data available for it. The manager can simply click a column header to remove unwanted information. Once the report is exported to CSV or Excel, the columns can be moved to preference.

3. Run an hourly sales report

With this new option, managers can break down sales reports by Location, Department(s), and Sales Category. Being able to quickly see sales is a must so managers can build schedules and run attendance accordingly.

4. View a sales timeline for the week

In addition to being able to build and run an hourly sales report, when the report generates, it shows a week’s worth of sales. This further helps managers when creating a schedule or predicting needed attendance.

5. View Manager Projections, Actual Figures, and System Forecasts side by side

Managers rely on a lot of data and numbers to run their location successfully. Being able to see actual numbers versus their predictions vs TimeForge’s own predictions can further help the manager be successful in their staffing decisions.

6. Export your data in whatever format suits you best

Once a report is generated, the manager can export the results with a click of a button. Formats include Excel, CSV, and PDF, so you can use whatever works best for you.
